Kacen Turned Three!

Our cutie cutie Kacer-roony turned 3 last Sunday!
What?

He got a rocket ship cake! Because I have been asked, the blue is just the sheet pan covered in blue frosting, and the flames are a pile of marshmallows covered in frosting. There the dirty secrets are out.
I thought it might be fun to not only talk about what Kacen is up to but what we learned over the years too.

Lesson 1- presents are pointless at this age, as demonstrated below.
Kacen's best friends Christie and Derek brought him a cool paper airplane. Made from a paper towel and toilet paper roll. We bought him a real looking remote control mega truck.
He still plays with the airplane a week later, within 30 minutes the mega truck was broken.
Lesson 2- regardless of what every book you ever read says, kids can in fact live off a very limited diet of yogurt, eggs, bread, cheese and fruit. Vegetables are not necessary. I kid, I kid. We sneak in the veg in baked goods and pancakes. Oh but we did not taint the b-day cake with squash I am not THAT devoted.
Lesson 3- Sometimes we feel like we mess up, sometimes we actually mess up, and in the end our kids still love us. Kacer needs help with some things developmentally and linguistically. Yeah, things like that pretty much make me feel like a failure as a momma. But we just have to keep trying hard every day to help him learn and grow. I believe in positive affirmation so he hears it a lot, "You are smart, you are kind, you are important." (haha name that movie)

Lesson 4- Goodies and laughter can cure a bad day. Our little guy is so funny, he does the cutest things and makes us smile with all his goofyness.

Lesson 5- Love is good. We love this kid so much. Being his mama has taught me so much about patience, selflessness, prayer, hard work, forgiveness, humility and true happiness (ahh man look at me crying at the computer again). I am by no means an expert at any of these things but our life together is a work in progress. And I am so blessed to be him mom. He is such a beacon of light in my life and I love watching his progress and seeing who he is as a person.

And truly thank you all who have been a part of his life, who have loved him, taught him, played with him and cared for him.

So what is Kace up to?

Oh about 38"
Man I kill myself.

He loves cars and anything that lights up and goes
He loves to make loud noises playing with the above, and has a whole awesome array of sound effects for his toys
He is pretty good at matching and puzzles
He is super agile and can climb, crawl, run, bounce, bound, skateboard (seriously one foot on, one foot off. Ah such proud parents) jump, etc.
He loves the book "Sam's Potty" our favorite line,"Dumb old Potty!"
He is a super helpful cleaner, even has his own chores, unloading the silverware from the dishwasher and taking his own dishes to the sink

Oh and luckily his Nana took pitty on him and cut off the homeless hair so he is looking pretty sharp these days. Check in later for some pictures.

That's a wrap
