A Week With Dad

This week Ky had his Spring Break! Oh man it has been such an amazing week. Got my teeth cleaned, new glasses and contacts, I got to sleep in one day, we went to the Baltimore Aquarium, took a trip to the Washington DC LDS temple, read some books, made some drastic changes to Kacen's life (in a good way) and have seen notable improvements in his behavior, made a snow fort and played in the sun, oh and Easter festivities (ok mostly just dyed eggs). We loved every minute of no school and no work, but tonight Ky is back to the grind. He heads off to work tonight and starts school on Tuesday, by the way, he is doing amazing in his classes right now! Only one month left in this semester.

Too Cute! Kacen kept trying to get her with squirting water out of the rubber ducky
Dying Easter Eggs, he loved it!
I went a little overboard on the egg thing and boiled 7.5 dozen, then I set them outside on a cold night and forgot about them the next day and they set out in the hot warm sun, so now I have 7.5 smelly, but colorful, eggs.

 Creepy baby eyes
We drove down to Baltimore for the Aquarium, I love touristy big cities.
 The aquarium was great!
We met up with some of our favorite people, Henry, Amber and Henson.
Kacen became attached to Henry and Henson was my little buddy by the end of the day. The two boys didn't seem to really care about each other. And Andie of course loves anyone that will hold her.

The worst part was there were no strollers allowed. So we all took turns carrying our Andie babe.
Yeah we didn't take time to figure out the camera settings so the photos are not that great. But Ky is standing in front of the sharks.
Kacen had two favorite parts, one was the divers in the Coral Reef exhibit. A lady standing near by said, "isn't it ironic we bring kids to aquarium and their favorite part is the humans?" Too true.
And his next favorite part was the escalators, because the aquarium is in the city the space is compact so you travel up and down escalators from exhibit to exhibit, and Kacen loved every second of his escalator riding. I guess we could have saved $70 and just went to the mall instead.
The coolest part for me was the Dolphins, they have a dolphin show! Too Cool. We sat in the "
Splash Zone." Luckily we didn't get wet.

The whole clan. Nana and Uncle Ian came too. And Kacen loved having his nana there cuz she would ride up and down the escalators with him and Ian would "race" him around because that is his new favorite thing.

It is just way too cool watching their amazing feats. It sort of puts you at awe with how amazing all the creatures that roam our planet are, they are all truly beautiful in their own way. Cheesy yes. But I was really moved as I watched the animals and thought about how amazing each one is and how individual and diverse they all are.
And last but not least, Andie girl sea turtle.
Hurray for Spring Break, it was so wonderful to spend time together as a family. And take time to do some special and fun things. Now it is back to real life, school, work and the family all just got a cold. But at least we still have each other. Hope you all had/have a great Spring Break and Easter.
