I am Weak

So I am just gonna put it out there, I have major gut problems.

Thanks to the sweet sister missionaries pretty much everyone in our ward know this by now, haha. I totally love those ladies. Anyway I am not quite sure what to do for my tummy and all of the diets seem so hard. I am so weak. I tried to slowly begin the GAPS diet this week. I was going to eliminate gluten and sugar. And I did, for Monday and most of today. But dang I felt so tired and like I was over eating on other things just to compensate for not having my gluten and sugar snacks, and then I was soooo grumpy.

To all of you who are gluten and sugar free, props man.

I may try again, the logic behind this diet and the SCD diet are sound (if you want more info let me know but I don't want to bore anyone). I feel if I want to go meds free I need to change my diet, but I think I sort of jumped in without preparing. So the goal is to not over eat on gluten or sugar, and try to avoid it. I want to add carrot juice, a bile stimulator, and some other supplements and lots of homemade bacteria filled yogurt. And slowly try to add gluten free items to our pantry, doing it all at once seems a little costly.

So anyway, yeah I am weak. I just love doughnuts, bread, cookies, cake, bread, candy, ice cream, bread, cookies....I am repeating now.

Oh Our Random February

So February was a pretty exciting month for us, Kace turned 3 Andie turned 6 months and...Ian came home all the way from Brazil and had his birthday too!
Kacey loves his uncle. The other day I heard him freaking out during his nap time so I opened his door to let him out. He ran past me all the way down stairs, threw open the garage door grabbed a skateboard and was heading out across the street barefoot and without a coat to skate with his uncle. Too cute!

This is what Kacen does in line at AC Moore craft store. Line up the teddy bear pencil toppers.
A wintery walk to Long's park, haha Kacey looks so proper.
Andie Bean loves to eat real food.
And she likes to drink out of a glass.
And she can sit up so big.
An attempt at a sibling photo.
 Kacey poop'n on the potty.
He hates sitting on the toilet but hates having his poops in his pants, so we work through it. But I love that he doesn't go in a diaper any more. Poopy three year-old diapers are so sick!
Go Kacey Go! He can totally do this potty training thing, I know he can.
Oh she went through a tongue phase, swiping it back and forth and sticking it out.
My big project in February was catering a wedding reception. Say What? I know!

My friends the Shaffers were so kind to let me do this for them to get some great experience preparing elegant food for a huge gathering.
It was a lot of work, and I had so much help from my wonderful family and ward family. So many wonderful people got my back and I feel so blessed.

I am pretty lame and didn't take any photos, hopefully at some point some pictures of the reception will pop up on facebook and I can throw them over here. But I think it all turned out well and looked good too.

Poor Ky Ky had his butt whooped taking care of the two kiddos and working and school while my head was wrapped up in the reception for a week. Man he rocks! It is the month of valentines right? So I can gush a smidgen about my Ky.

And after all that hard work I let my mind sort of melt and spent this week on a Twilight the Saga marathon, some time this weekend I will fit in the last movie! Years ago I watched number one and thought the Bella actress was so lame I couldn't even think about watching another. But maybe I was a little harsh.

Kacen Turned Three!

Our cutie cutie Kacer-roony turned 3 last Sunday!
What?

He got a rocket ship cake! Because I have been asked, the blue is just the sheet pan covered in blue frosting, and the flames are a pile of marshmallows covered in frosting. There the dirty secrets are out.
I thought it might be fun to not only talk about what Kacen is up to but what we learned over the years too.

Lesson 1- presents are pointless at this age, as demonstrated below.
Kacen's best friends Christie and Derek brought him a cool paper airplane. Made from a paper towel and toilet paper roll. We bought him a real looking remote control mega truck.
He still plays with the airplane a week later, within 30 minutes the mega truck was broken.
Lesson 2- regardless of what every book you ever read says, kids can in fact live off a very limited diet of yogurt, eggs, bread, cheese and fruit. Vegetables are not necessary. I kid, I kid. We sneak in the veg in baked goods and pancakes. Oh but we did not taint the b-day cake with squash I am not THAT devoted.
Lesson 3- Sometimes we feel like we mess up, sometimes we actually mess up, and in the end our kids still love us. Kacer needs help with some things developmentally and linguistically. Yeah, things like that pretty much make me feel like a failure as a momma. But we just have to keep trying hard every day to help him learn and grow. I believe in positive affirmation so he hears it a lot, "You are smart, you are kind, you are important." (haha name that movie)

Lesson 4- Goodies and laughter can cure a bad day. Our little guy is so funny, he does the cutest things and makes us smile with all his goofyness.

Lesson 5- Love is good. We love this kid so much. Being his mama has taught me so much about patience, selflessness, prayer, hard work, forgiveness, humility and true happiness (ahh man look at me crying at the computer again). I am by no means an expert at any of these things but our life together is a work in progress. And I am so blessed to be him mom. He is such a beacon of light in my life and I love watching his progress and seeing who he is as a person.

And truly thank you all who have been a part of his life, who have loved him, taught him, played with him and cared for him.

So what is Kace up to?

Oh about 38"
Man I kill myself.

He loves cars and anything that lights up and goes
He loves to make loud noises playing with the above, and has a whole awesome array of sound effects for his toys
He is pretty good at matching and puzzles
He is super agile and can climb, crawl, run, bounce, bound, skateboard (seriously one foot on, one foot off. Ah such proud parents) jump, etc.
He loves the book "Sam's Potty" our favorite line,"Dumb old Potty!"
He is a super helpful cleaner, even has his own chores, unloading the silverware from the dishwasher and taking his own dishes to the sink

Oh and luckily his Nana took pitty on him and cut off the homeless hair so he is looking pretty sharp these days. Check in later for some pictures.

That's a wrap

Andie Six Months

Andie Bear is 6 months old! We just love this girl so much.

She is such a content little kid (she wouldn't smile for me without moving tons and looking blurry)
What is she up to?
Sitting
Eating and loving cereal, green beans, sweet potatoes, and not liking bananas
Not sleeping as well as I would hope
Grabbing for everything she can see
She loves her brother and the dog and will easily laugh at them
She loves her daddy and lights up when he comes in the room
Oh and she loves the mirror, like can sit in front of it for 20 min and be happy

Yep we sure do love this girly!
